Milky Way over Painted Wall verticle

The late summer Milky Way spans over the Painted Wall in Black Canyon National Park. This image was very challenging to capture. The Milky Way is almost directly overhead at this time of year, so a very wide-angle lens was used. The red areas in the Milky Way are ionized hydrogen and are where stars are being formed. The North America Nebula is one such region and can be seen in the sky at the upper right. The Gunnison River runs 2250 feet below the rim.

The matted prints are signed on the print border so the signature will stay with the print if you ever change the mat. The prints themselves are made using the highest quality pigment inks and are guaranteed for life if displayed out of direct sunlight.
