The Painted Wall by Moonlight
Star trails surround Polaris, the north star, in this time exposure of the canyon. The image is a composit of six 20-minute exposures taken under a partial moon at around midnight. The shadows are cast by the moon and the colors are very close to those seen in the daytime. Moonlight is just reflected sunlight so the sky is blue and the grass is green. The glow on the western horizon is from the city of Delta, Colorado, about twenty miles away.
